AJ is a coachable, hardworking RHP/3B who will graduate in 2018 with a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best through an open / athletic setup. Hands are quick and work to and through the baseball, creating extension. He shows an advanced stroke and works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields. At the event, he was 3 for 10. At 3B, feet are active as he works to square balls up and presents glove well out front. Continuing to increase foot quickness will improve range in the IF. On the mound, he shows good mound presence and composure. Fastball showed in the mid 60 range with a 10/4 shape CB with gradual break. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. With 3 years to further develop, AJ has potential and is a player to continue to follow.

A.J. is an athletic two way player with a solid knack for the game. Defensively, A.J. gets into a good, athletic fielding position, sports sure hands and has a very accurate arm. He flows through the ball well toward his target but can improve his first step quickness and footwork. On the mound, A.J. is a smooth tempo type righty who keeps his eyes down on his target, has a calm, controlled delivery which allows him to command the zone. He could use his lower half more and concentrate on a controlled finish toward the plate. Offensively, A.J. has a good, squared setup that allows him to use his lower half well, takes his hands to the ball directly and makes solid contact with an aggressive swing. To improve at the plate, he can control his backside balance a bit more.
