Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 2B/RHPPosition Projection

07/23/2015 - Factory Development Institute National Select Program Aaron is a young, athletic 2-way player with a promising future on the diamond. He improved tremendously - increasing his arm velocity, lowering his 60 & Home to 1B time. Defensively, he moves well with very smooth hands. He showed energetic, explosive actions as he attacked the ball. On the mound, FB now sits in the upper 70s with a 2-pitch off speed mix in the mid 60s. He keeps the running game in check with his ability to mix up his tempo and command off speed. Offensively, Aaron is an intense hitter that is serious about getting better. He stays inside the ball with strong hands and balance at contact. Improving his rhythm will allow him to have a more repeatable, consistent swing path generating line drives. Aaron is a talented player that respects the game and should find success in the next couple of years.

01/17/2014 - Baseball Factory Spring Training at Pirate City Aaron continues to work hard. This R/R has an athletic frame and is versatile enough to play anywhere on the diamond. At 2B, he works to get into a square fielding position. He shows good range moving well to his right and left. Offensively, Aaron maintains good rhythm throughout his setup/load while remaining balanced. He tracks the ball, showing good zone awareness (drew 2 walks in 5 AB's). He shows good barrel accuracy as he was able to square the ball up consistently. A few minor mechanical adjustments and his skills at the dish will progress. Only a 2017 grad - Aaron has a lot of time to continue to work hard and develop his game.

07/07/2013 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (Ages 12-14) Aaron showed the ability to play 2B, C and OF while at the Cape Cod event. His arm strength is solid, accuracy is good and he is a very good fielder. He is sure handed and his footwork is solid. Being more aggressive and understanding the game situations better will help him to be successful in the future. At the plate Aaron displayed an athletic setup, decent balance; timing was good and an overall smooth/aggressive swing. He needs to finish his swing and stay through the ball in order to maximize his power. Aaron is a good kid who loves the game. He plays hard and hustles. He improved everyday.

05/19/2013 - College PREP - San Antonio, TX Aaron is a young 2B/C with a good glove. At second, he attacks the ball - taking good angles, and fields the ball in front with sure hands. His quick footwork allows him to cover ground and square balls up. Behind the dish, he has an idea about receiving and shows a quick exchange. He is quick down to block, but has some trouble on the recover. A throwing/long toss program is essential to Aaron's further defensive development. Offensively, he is athletic in his setup and shows good barrel accuracy. Aaron shows maturity in his plate presence - allowing the ball to travel. Overall, this 5'1"/110 lbs player just needs to fill out and continue getting his reps to be a successful ball player.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
