Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • OF/RHPPosition Projection

03/13/2021 - Spring Pro Training Experience - MD (HS) Aaron improved his hitting abilities and power potential at the event. He shows a tall squared setup with solid power potential. Hands are quick (87 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. In the OF, he displays smooth/athletic actions. He reads balls well off the bat and takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. Feet are aggressive as he works behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 68-71 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his knuckleball with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

02/15/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Gambrills, MD Aaron continues to show improvements in all his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.37 runner. At the plate, hitting/power potential have improved through a tall, squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth/athletic actions. Feet are active as he works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 72 mph. Breaking ball displays 3/9 shape with sweeping action. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Knuckleball shows tumbling action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

10/26/2019 - Mid Atlantic Regional Pitching/Catching & Offensive Skills Combined Weekend (Ages 14-18) Aaron is a coachable RHP/OF prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Accelerated Training Weekend. On the mound, Aaron gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline towards the plate. Driving his lower half more can help Aaron improve as a pitcher. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes his stride on time. He hits against a strong front side and drives the ball to his pull side. Aaron can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. Overall, Aaron is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

10/13/2018 - College Recruiting Day - Columbia, MD Aaron is a RHP/OF prospect who will graduate in 2023. On the mound, Aaron gathers over the rubber and works to keep his pitches around the zone. His fastball tops out at 60mph. In the field, Aaron makes the routine plays and works to keep his throws accurate to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a square stride. He works to barrel up the baseball and makes solid contact. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
