Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHP/SSPosition Projection

07/27/2012 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City Aaron is a thick/broad 2017 graduate who plays RHP/1B. He has solid arm strength, a quick exchange and he is accurate. On the mound Aaron has good balance/rhythm, he gets good extension with his upper body and he has a good demeanor. He needs to load with his lower half better (especially from the stretch), lengthen/loosen his arm action on the backside and challenge hitters more. As a fielder Aaron displayed active feet, a controlled approach, athletic fielding position, soft/sure hands and solid feeds. He needs to be smoother, fielding the ball out front more, work on picks, and long toss for arm strength. At the plate Aaron showed a load, short/square stride and a level swing path but he needs to point his toes toward the plate in his stance, keep his weight balanced (he is too far back) and use his lower half more. Also he is too early with his stride/load, he needs to get his timing down better. Aaron is great kid, he is very respectful and he works hard. He is very coachable, a good teammate and he has good skills. If he polishes up on the fundamentals and make some adjustments he be successful in the future.

11/10/2011 - Pirate City Select Training - 2011 (Pre HS) Aaron is an athletic 2017 graduate who is a RHP and plays 1B. On the mound Aaron throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and he has long/free arm action. He displayed a balance, rhythm/tempo were good and his seperation was on-time. His fastball was between 54-56 in Pirate City and he threw it for strikes. Aaron needs to work on his stride/landing/direction because he has a tendency to fall off and his landing is open. At the plate he has an athletic stance, short stride, stable balance, average bat speed, makes consistent/square contact and his timing is good. He needs to smooth himself out at the plate and get more from his lower half. Aaron has the makings of good hitter, if he makes a couple small adjustments he can be a very good hitter.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
