08/31/2013 - Hitting Accelerated Training Weekend (Ages 12-14) Aaron is a good little hitter that is going to improve with size and maturity. Aaron shows the ability to understand the swing, and understand what needs to be done to improve the swing. He needs to work on his balance during the swing, now his balance will improve with core strength as he gets older, however he can work on his balance by letting his body work together during the swing. When the body moves at different times it tends to fight itself making it hard to balance, but if he can allow the body to work together the balance will happen for him. Aaron also tends to let his barrel drop during the swing, which causes him to hit over and under the baseball at times, if he can keep the barrel and hands up during the swing he will find the center of the baseball more often.

07/30/2013 - Interactive Video Program - Raleigh, NC Aaron is a 2-way player who plays 2nd base and RHP. Defensively, Aaron has firm hands, active feet, and he fields the ball in a square position. He keeps the ball in front, his exchange is clean, and he throws with accuracy from a short arm action. On the hill, Aaron has a long arm action, he works to his balance point well, and he lands in a sound position. Offensively, Aaron has a square set-up, good balance, and he makes consistent contact. He has a rhythmic / level swing, and gets his lower 1/2 through. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Field out front
2. Play more through
3. Long toss
Pitching
1. Eyes on target
2. Finish
3. Loosen arm action
Offense
1. Shorten swing
2. Head on ball
3. Bat speed

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
