08/05/2013 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Aaron showed particularly well in his second Baseball Factory outing of the summer at Pirate city and improved his class rating as a result. Behind the dish, he presents a good target, gets fingers around the ball and has a clean exchange to throw his consistent 2.2 second pop. His footwork improved as the week progressed keeping him more square to throw with a higher elbow. At first, he works low and shows good bag footwork. He is patient to stretch catching the ball in front. Offensively, he shows fast bat speed, a level bath and a stiff front to hit against. Working to stay inside the ball and have better balance will help him to continue to improve at the plate. He has a plus baseball body and shows a lot of promise. He works hard time and time again and is very receptive to coaching. Aaron should have a solid senior season, and be an impact guy this time next year.

06/22/2013 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 Aaron posted his best pop times to date in Omaha, posting a 2.20. His arm works free allowing him to have accurate throws with some carry to his target. He is a sure handed receiver both as a catcher and first baseman. As a catcher, he has a clean exchange as well. Working on footwork and speed/agility exercises will continue to help him improve as a defensive player. Offensively, Aaron has a tall set-up, a short stride, and his head is still. He puts the ball in play and creates leverage with some hard contact to the pull side. If he can work on staying shorter with his swing, his hitting grades will continue to improve. Aaron is a very coachable player--he listens well and worked hard to make adjustments.

05/12/2013 - College PREP - New Orleans, LA Aaron is a solid 2-way player with a tall and lanky build. Defensively behind the plate, this backstop is sure handed and moves well around balls thrown in the dirt. He has quiet actions and gains ground toward his target well. A quicker exchange and increased arm strength will help to lower pop times. At 1B, Holub shows good bag awareness as he is a big target at first. He is aggressive in attacking the ground ball and he moves around the ground ball well. At the plate, this big right-handed hitter shows a crouched setup and good balance. He delivers his barrel to the zone through a short and direct path. He makes consistent contact and gets extension through contact. Aaron has a solid skill-set yet still has time to work on his game as he nears his senior year.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
