Official Scouting Report

  • OF/LHPPosition Projection

07/30/2014 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 Aaron is a good athlete, a team player, and he showed a good attitude during his time in Pirate City. In the OF, Aaron has loose body actions, athletic abilities, and he reads the ball off the bat well. He has soft hands, he fields out front of his body, and makes plays on balls hit his way. On the bump, Aaron is a strikes thrower, who works quickly and who holds a good demeanor on the mound. At the plate, Aaron shows very good balance, fluid swing, and good bat speed. He has a good eye for the zone and gets his hands through the ball properly.

06/17/2014 - College PREP - Charleston, WV Aaron is an athletic 2-way player who can swing it. Offensively, this RHH shows a balance approach with a strong base. He swings with plus bat speed creating good whip, connecting and driving the ball. He will be a run producer with his ability to create consistent/hard contact. In the OF, he take a quick first step and tracks down balls hit to his right and left. He works behind the ball, plays through it well, and has a clean exchange to throw. On the mound, Aaron has a 3-pitch mix coming from a loose/free arm action. FB tops out at 77 mph while showing some cut. Breaking ball is best pitch as it has 2/8 shape with late break. He gets good glove side lead and finishes out over his front side. A talented player - Aaron should find success on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
