02/28/2016 - College PREP - Waco, TX Peralta continues to show well. With the bat, this RH swinger stands in well with centered balance and a solid base. He fires the barrel at pitches he likes, squaring the ball up and driving it with pop. Behind the dish, he sits in presenting a low target and tracking pitches into his mitt. He sticks the ball and frames well. Throws down to 2B are accurate with times remaining in the low 2's. Aaron has skills and should find success in this his senior season.

11/22/2015 - College PREP - Corpus Christi, TX It was good to get another look at Aaron as we know we will see maximum effort and a true passion for the game. He continues to fine tune parts of his game as he matures physically. He sat in well behind the plate showing a firm, strong wrist receiving and working to catch the outer half and present the ball well. He sits easy and reads balls in the dirt well, deadening balls off his chest. His throws to 2B were in the 2.2/2.3 range and on the bag. Offensively, Aaron showed the ability to let the ball travel and use his quick hands to deliver the barrel on time. He utilizes the middle of the field and will improve consistency with a better bat angle and shorter stroke. Overall, we really like the way Aaron goes about his business and look forward to seeing him again in the future.

08/03/2015 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Aaron shows great instincts on the diamond with the ability to make adjustments each outing. Offensively, Aaron continues to swing with a simple approach and contact type bat control. As he works to get his lower half involved with the swing and gets separation with his hands, he will see a more powerful swing. As a C, Aaron's times improved to 2.22 because of his work on the transfer, quicker footwork and improved arm. Working around the plate with softer hands and lateral range during blocking will improve his defensive abilities. On the mound, Aaron shows signs of potential with his competitive spirit and long extension through to the plate. As he develops more of a feel for his secondary pitches and gets to a more stable balance position, his command and stock will rise. Overall, Aaron continues to work hard and try multiple positions.

05/31/2015 - National Tryout - San Antonio, TX Aaron continues to develop his skills. Behind the dish, he is quick around pitches in the dirt, working the body the ball up and keep it in front. Exchange is clean with pop times now as low as 2.27. Offensively, he shows a balanced approach with a solid base. Swing is level to and through the zone as he drives the ball back up the middle of the field. Letting the ball travel a little deeper into the zone will allow him to use the entire field. Aaron is a hard worker who will find success on the diamond.

07/12/2014 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition - Session 1 Aaron continues to show as a catcher with a ton of potential. He plays hard and shows some leadership traits as he controls the game. Pop times were in the 2.40 range with on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Receiving / blocking tools show as playable tools as he continues to develop and get more reps. At the plate, hands work well through the zone and he shows a feel for the barrel. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more.

01/12/2014 - National Tryout - San Antonio, TX Aaron showed exceptional improvements in his game since his last outing with Baseball Factory. His arm velocity raised 7 MPH and he displayed added maturity to his hit ability, trusting his hands and seeing the ball deep. Offensively, he was direct with his hands and found contact. He moved well out of the box - running 4.68 seconds down to first. Defensively, he continued to show his range and tracking ability. His footwork is improving and he showed flashes of hands in front. In all - Aaron is showing a desire time and time again to improve and work hard.

06/27/2013 - California Select Training & Competition Aaron is a young 2B with a good work ethic and positive personality. At 2B, he moves well to his glove side with an ability to make plays. He has a good feel for the turn at second, and will be able to complete double plays more efficiently with increased arm strength. Aaron also competed on the mound where he threw an inning and gave up just two hits. Offensively, he has a quiet head, and a contact approach with good extension. He asked questions and was willing to make adjustments to improve his game. Aaron is a nice young man that is a raw ball player.

05/19/2013 - Interactive Video Program - San Antonio, TX Aaron is a thin, 2-way player who catches and plays 2nd base. Behind the plate, Aaron has firm hands, active feet, and he fields in a square position. He takes good angles to block, his exchange is quick, and he throws with a short / loose arm with average strength to his target. At 2nd base, Aaron shows sure hands, active footwork, and he fields in a low / athletic position. At the plate, Aaron has a tall / open set-up, he swings in good rhythm, and he can spray to all fields. Abilities can improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
