Official Scouting Report

  • 2B/SSPosition Projection

08/09/2010 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ Aaron showed well at Team One Northeast and continues to project as a solid INF at the next level. Defensively, Aaron presents his glove well, he gets low early, and he works from the right side of the ball. He has good footwork and range, soft / playable hands, and he throws accurately to his target. Offensively, Aaron has a good set-up, nice balance, and he squares the ball up on the barrel well. He has good / quick hands and a level swing. Hitting can get better with added physical strength and better extension through the ball.

07/11/2010 - Exclusive Filming Shoot - MD 2 Aaron continues to improve as he lower his 60-time as well as increase his arm, fielding, and hiting grades at this event. At SS, he looks the part as every play he made was smooth and clean. He kept his feet moving at all times as he aggressively played thru balls. Fielded it out front with soft hands to go with a quick exchange. Throws had life and carry as they were accurate to 1B. Made good feeds on 6-4-3 and very quick turns on 4-6-3. At the plate, demonstrated an aggressive approach as his quick hands developed above-average bat speed. Kept hands inside as he hit the ball to all fields. He used his lower half efficiently which helped produce gap power.

10/04/2009 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ Aaron had an excellent workout as he improved his 60-time, velocity, and power grade. At 2B, had good presentation which allowed him to stay low and field ball out front. All plays were made cleanly especially with BH. Showed good lateral movement as he came from the right and played aggressively thru ball. Feet play better then what 60-time shows. All throws were accurate and arm strength will improve with a stringent long toss program. Made accurate DP feeds and quick DP turns. He is a very polished 2B. At the plate, demonstrated above average bat speed with the ability to center balls. Got uphill at times which made him lift and pull balls. Was in good hitting position each time and showed good rhythm. Had good balance which allowed him to use lower half as he showed gap-to-gap power.

08/05/2009 - Pirate City World Series - Session 2 Aaron continues to show steady improvement with his baseball skills. At SS, made all the plays with soft hands as he fielded it out front. Came from the right which allowed him to play thru aggressively. At the plate, showed good knowledge of strike zone, as shown with 3 BBs during the event. He went 2-6. Power will improve as he utilizes lower half properly. Demonstrated good bat speed with solid contact each time. Had the ability to hit ball to all fields as he kept hands inside ball.

11/07/2008 - Dodgertown Select Training - 2008 Rosen showed good hands, footwork and actions defensively. He can work to improve his first step quickness, along with his arm strength. At the plate, he held his balance fairly well and showed a level swing through the zone. Can work to stay taller and in more athletic positions throughout his stance and swing. Ran 8.27 in the 60-yard dash, a little off the 8.10 we saw previously. Overall, a young player that would benefit from a program to help build strength and quickness.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
