06/18/2016 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 Aaron continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities with a tremendous upside on the mound. On the mound, arm strength has improved, now showing outstanding as he threw his top velocity to date at 86 mph. Fastball shows good arm side run as he hides the ball well. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches and is very competitive on the bump. At SS, feet are active as he moves well laterally, displaying range. Presenting hands more out front will aid in improving defensive abilities. At the plate, he shows a balanced setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He will put the ball in play and makes consistent contact. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to get his stride foot down to work on time. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. Aaron has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

04/24/2016 - College PREP - Phoenix, AZ Aaron is a solid, athletic RHP/SS who will graduate in 2017. At SS, he shows smooth / fluid actions. Feet are quick / aggressive as he attacks balls and moves well laterally. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on feeds / turns of the double play. At the plate, he shows an athletic / squared setup. Hands are loose, work through an aggressive approach, and level swing path. He has strength in his swing with baseball jumping off bat when centered, mainly to the pull side. Power will continue to increase as he works to utilize his lower half more aggressively. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 74-77 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break and shows potential as being a quality pitch. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with tailing action. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. Aaron has abilities with a lot of room to continue to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
