06/29/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National West Aaron is a true talent who is fun to watch. A RHH - he stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression as he connects with power (85 mph exit velocity) driving all parts of the field. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Transfer exchange is smooth as he zips throws on a line through his target. He has the versatility to play all 3 OF spots effectively. Aaron has potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Aaron is a hard worker who has molded himself into a solid OF prospect. Foot speed has improved as he now runs his 60 in 7.25. He takes a quick first step and covers a ton of ground laterally. He works behind and through the ball, gaining ground toward his target. He gets rid of the ball quickly with strong/accurate throws. At the plate, Watson has an athletic/balanced setup with rhythm to load. Hands are quick as he barrels the ball up and drives it on a line. He connects with pop (exit velocity = 84 mph) and uses the whole field. Aaron possesses the tools that will make an impact when he steps onto the field.

12/27/2015 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic A 2017 grad, Watson is an OFer that showed good feel for the game on the offensive and defensive side at the Recruiting Classic. In the OF, Aaron showed efficient footwork and took aggressive, proper routes to the baseball. The hands are soft as momentum carries Watson through the catch to his target and the arm stroke allows for excellent arm strength with impressive carry to target. At the plate, Watson showed good zone awareness to go with his line drive approach and good rhythm. The mechanics of the swing are proper and allow Aaron to take a direct, compact stroke to the ball with balance and extension coming through the baseball with present bat speed. Overall, Watson's talent combined with his coachability will allow him to take his game to the next level through continued hard work.

09/06/2015 - College PREP - San Francisco, CA Aaron is a 2017 OF that shows athletic actions and some next level tools. At the plate, he hits from an open stance with fluid action in his hands and lower 1/2. He gets extension through the ball and hits from a firm front side, which produces a repeatable swing. Hitting to all fields and using his lower 1/2 will allow Aaron to drive the ball to the gaps more frequently. In the OF, he gets a quick first step, tracks it well, stays behind the ball and throws through his target with momentum. Overall, Aaron is a talented player and as he is only entering his junior season, has time on his side to develop a multitude of next level skills.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
