12/17/2023 - National Showcase - Detroit, MI Ace is a tall 6ft 1/155 2B/RHP in the 2025 class. In the field, he shows excellent pre-pitch movements and centers his body to the baseball. He plays with a high motor and takes great angles to the baseball with 7.29 speed. Redirects with clean actions and gains a short high 3 qtr. slot. His feeds are consistent and arm works at 72 velo. Working to play low to the ground and work through the baseball will allow him to stay in rhythm and create more time for his internal clock. On the mound, he has long levers and keeps his eyes to the target. Demonstrates solid front side actions and balance over the rubber. Uses a high 3 qtr slot to create movement on his 4-pitch mix. His FB touched 70 and his cutter ranged 61-4 with glove side movement. His CXB shaped 11-5 at 59-61. His CH is developing. Showed sinking actions at 59-61 and working on maintaining FB arm speed and incorporating the grip in his catch play will allow for stronger feel. At the plate, He tracks the ball well and keeps a quiet head. Shows the ability to get his barrel to the ball and use the whole field. Working to create more flexion in his stance and load will allow his strength to take over and create more explosion in his swing. Overall, Ace is a fine player who should have a great year this spring.

08/03/2023 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training & Tournament (HS) Ace continues to shine with his baseball abilities. At 2B, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 66-67 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sink. Cutter has tight spin with short break. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

07/10/2023 - National Showcase - Cleveland, OH Ace is a tall (6ft/155) RHP/2B in the 2025 class. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber well and pounds the zone. His separation can be sooner, but is quick to recover with a proper landing. His FB sat 73 and working to adjust his grip with give it more action. Throws both a SL (66) and CB (61) with solid actions. On his CH he slows his arm down and when he maintains FB arm speed, it can be an effective pitch. In the field, he has proper pre-pitch movements and is aggressive to the baseball. He plays with high effort and the ball sticks to his glove. Is trusted to make the routine play and with added arm strength, he can stick in the INF. At the plate, he shows strong barrel feel and uses the whole field. He makes strong contact through the baseball and he is on-plane. Overall, Ace is a solid two-way player.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
