12/20/2017 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Adam continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. In the OF, he displays smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He reads balls well off the bat and works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. At the plate, he continues to shine through a crouched setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At the event, he was 2 for 5. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 77-79 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with gradual break. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and a very hard worker. He plays the game hard and could develop into a potential 2 way college player.

07/17/2017 - College PREP - Minneapolis, MN Adam is an athletic OF/LHP who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.18. At the plate is where he shows best through a closed setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He works to stay inside the ball through a line drive approach. In the OF, he displays smooth / athletic actions. He utilizes his feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles and utilizes two hands well through the fielding process. He works to get behind balls and plays through well. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. On the mound, he shows good tempo through a strong balance point and throws from a high ¾ arm slot. Fastball showed a range of 78-81 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 2 years to further develop, Adam has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
