12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Adam is an athletic and talented 2-way prospect that was eager to learn. In the OF, Adam is on time with his prep step, he plays through the ball, and makes accurate throws. He has a strong arm but needs to continue to improve his first step quickness. At the plate, Adam starts in a squared stance and has rhythm in his load. He rotates his lower half, he attacks the inside part of the ball, and looks to drive the ball through the middle part of the field. Continuing to keep his front side close and keeping his head down at contact will improve his ability to drive the ball. On the bump, Adam gathers over the rubber, he separates on time, and has a clean arm action. He works fast and holds runners well. He pounds the strike zone with his fastball and has a late break on his curveball. Adam will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

10/06/2019 - College PREP - Washington (Pittsburgh), PA Adam is a tall OF/LHP prospect who will graduate in 2021. In the field, Adam shows active footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields with soft hands. He gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate and on-line to his target. Making a quicker exchange can help Adam improve defensively. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He gets back into his load well and works to barrel up the baseball, driving to his pull side. Adam can improve as a hitter by taking a more level swing path. On the mound, Adam gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and extends through his release, staying inline towards the plate. Adam shows a four pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 77mph. Curveball sits from 62-64mph with 1-7 break. Slider sits from 64-65mph with 2-8 break. Changeup sits from 68-69mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Long tossing to build up his arm strength can help Adam improve as a pitcher. Overall, Adam is a solid prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
