11/08/2012 - Baseball Factory Training & Competition at Pirate City In Adam's most recent Factory event he played second base in a training/game play atmosphere. At second, he moved well laterally, had solid backhand mechanics, made plays, had an accurate arm, and had consistent double play feeds. His arm action is still a bit stiff from the 3/4 arm slot, and his hands still want to get deep in his fielding position. Implementing a throwing program, working on arm strength and transfer, and continuing to work on his fielding position with his hands out in front, will greatly help Adam's fielding grades. Offensively, he has a good athletic setup, separation with his hands, and controls his head well. He strides open at times, has tightness in his elbow, and showed an anchored lower half. Intangibly, the coaching staff agreed he looked the part, was a good kid, and was extremely coachable. With these intangibles, the tall/thin/athletic Adam, that will graduate in 2015, will continue to improve his playing ability and will project well as a second basemen at the next level.
