10/19/2014 - College PREP - Lexington, KY Adam is a big, solid RHP/1B that will graduate in 2015. Currently, he projects best on the mound for the next level. Delivery is repeatable as he uses his lower half well and allows his arm action to work long and well to the plate through a 3/4 arm slot. Fastball shows a range of 77-81 mph on a slight downhill plane. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with arm side run. Off speed stuff show potential as being quality pitches at the next level. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches through a quick / fast tempo. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At 1B, he shows good body control and clean hands as he works to square balls up. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he improves footwork around the bag and presents hands more out front. At the plate, he shows an open / balanced setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to keep hands inside the ball to utilize all fields and closed up stride. Adam has an upside on the mound and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches as he continues to improve.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
