08/14/2018 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ Adam showed increased velocity on the mound during his last workout in Trenton. His FB touched 80 MPH, he stands over the rubber well balanced, and his arm is loose and free. Adam keeps his eyes on target, lands with good direction toward home plate, and he competes in the zone with his pitches. Mound effectiveness can improve with more lower body, finish, and continuing to add arm strength. Offensively, Adam has an athletic set-up, he swings aggressively, and he stands in well balanced. He has fast bat speed, makes square/hard contact, and he uses his lower body.

12/28/2017 - College PREP - Swarthmore (Philadelphia), PA Adam is a solid, 2-way player who plays 3B and RHP. Defensively, Adam has quick/fluid feet, he presents his glove well, and he moves with good agility to the ball. He fields athletically, has a quick exchange, and throws with carry and accuracy to his target. On the mound, Adam has good size, a loose/clean arm action, and he lands in a square position. He competes in the zone with his pitches and can improve with more lower body, glove side lead, and work on his CB/SL. Offensively, Adam can switch hit and is currently stronger from the right side. He has an athletic set-up, good balance, and fast bat speed. Adam makes square contact from the right, and has pop in his bat. From the left side, Adam has good bat speed, strength in his swing, and he uses his lower body. Staying short, letting the ball travel, and better timing can help abilities from both sides improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
