Official Scouting Report

11/19/2017 - College PREP - Marlborough (Boston), MA Adam improved in all areas of his game during his last workout in Boston. Arm, fielding and hitting numbers all spiked. At SS, Adam has fluid footwork, agile movements, and soft hands. He moves well laterally, has a clean backhand, and a quick arm when throwing with momentum toward his target. Offensively, Adam showed a strong base, good hand load, and a rhythmic swing. He is short to the ball, has fast bat speed, and good overall feel for the barrel.

11/13/2016 - College PREP - Marlborough (Boston), MA Adam continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities with a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the MIF, he works to square balls up, displaying clean hands. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turns of the double play. Glove action is soft / sure as he presents well out front. He moves well laterally, flashing range. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact with power showing best to the pull side.

07/16/2016 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition - Session 2 Adam showed at SS and on the mound for the first time at the event. At SS, he displays smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and squares up well with his body. Hands are clean as he presents on time and out front. He shows off his athletic ability on his feeds of the double play. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy on his throws. At the plate, he shows an open / balanced setup. Hands are loose and work through an uphill swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will continue to improve as he works to utilize his lower half more aggressively. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 68-73 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with gradual break. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound.

11/15/2015 - College PREP - Marlborough (Boston), MA Adam is a R/R MIF who has an athletic build. Offensively, this righty shows a balanced setup with a solid base. Swing is level to and through the zone as he hits the ball where it's pitched - spraying it to all parts of the field. At SS, Adam has active/efficient footwork and moves lightly on the balls of his feet. He presents his glove, fields the ball out in front and makes the plays with soft hands. Continuing to develop his arm strength (long toss) will help him to develop on the left side of the diamond. At 2019 grad - Adam has a solid skill set and will continue to develop and physically mature.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
