Official Scouting Report

  • 5Class Rating
  • RHP/2BPosition Projection

03/24/2019 - College PREP - Greenville, SC Adam is a RHP/2B prospect who will graduate in 2020. On the mound, Adam gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a free arm and stays inline towards the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. Adam shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 79mph. Breaking ball sits from 60-63mph with sharp 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 67-70mph with arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Extending through his release can help Adam improve as a pitcher. In the field, Adam makes the routine plays and flashes a clean exchange. He throws from over top and keeps his throws accurate and on-line to his target. Adam can improve defensively by getting into a more athletic fielding position. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a square stride. He takes a direct swing with decent bat speed, leading to solid line drives. Working a smoother load into his swing can help Adam improve as a hitter. Overall, Adam is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
