02/04/2018 - College PREP - Dayton, OH Adam is a solid, athletic LHP/OF who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying outstanding hitting / power potential through a tall, open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive approach. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. In the OF, he displays smooth / clean actions. He utilizes his feet well in tracking down balls but needs to take better routes / angles. He makes the routine play but will benefit by working to get behind balls more to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 69-72 mph. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Adam has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.
Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
