08/01/2012 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 Adam continues to show solid abilities behind the plate. Pop times have improved as he threw his best pop time to date at 2.29. Feet are quick / athletic as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength to continue to lower pop times. Receiving / blocking skills are solid, showing as quality tools that will play well at the next level. At the plate, he shows a solid approach with balance. His hands are quick, flashing bat speed and he shows a solid feel for the barrel. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a tough kid that works his tail off and displays solid leader type skills behind the plate.

06/17/2012 - College PREP - Hoover (Birmingham), AL Adam is an athletic catcher that will graduate in 2013. Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 6.99 60 time. He uses his quick / athletic feet well in working in line to his target. Pop times show a range of 2.31-2.47 with accuracy / carry on his throws. He needs to quicken his transfer / exchange and work to get rid of the baseball quicker to lower times. Receiving / blocking skills show as playable tools at the next level with further development. At the plate is where Pridgeon shows best through a solid setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a loose swing. He has strength in his swing with the baseball exploding off his bat when centered. He loads well and rotates lower half well while maintaining balance. Adam has potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches as he continues to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
