Official Scouting Report

09/04/2020 - HS All-Region Tournament Adam continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.02 runner. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking balls down. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers ground. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick (89 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 77 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Control is well above average as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

05/31/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Frisco (DFW), TX Adam is an athletic RHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. On the mound, Adam shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 76mph. Breaking ball sits from 60-62mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 67-70mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Gathering to a balance point over the rubber can help Adam improve as a pitcher. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth getting back into his load and leads well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with good extension, leading to consistent contact and gap to gap pop. Adam can improve as a hitter by being more aggressive with his pitch selection. Overall, Adam is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

08/04/2016 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown Adam is a young 3B/RHP prospect who graduates in 2021. In the field, Adam does a nice job staying down on the baseball to field it cleanly. He could benefit from more active footwork to increase his range. Offensively, Adam has a square, balanced stance and uses his lower half throughout his swing. He keeps his hands back and stays inside the baseball with fluid rhythm and bat speed. Adam is a line drive hitter that shows consistent, hard contact. On the mound, Adam throws from a 3/4 slot with good arm action. He works with good tempo and has a balanced motion. Adam is square in his direction with the proper stride length for his size. Adam is continuing to develop his baseball skills into a fine all around ball player.

01/15/2016 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Adam is a two way player who gives great effort each time out. On the mound as a RHP, he stays squared to his target, pitches to contact and fields his position well. His FB ranged from 48-52mph and as he grows with time he will be able to improve his velocity. As a 2020 grad he has plenty of time to develop secondary pitches to complement his FB command. Defensively, he readies himself with great pre pitch movements, attacks the ball and creates solid momentum toward first base. Offensively, he has a direct path to the ball, keeps his swing compact and finds the barrel consistently. Adam sprays the ball to all fields which helped him collect a couple of hits and an RBI at the event. He improves each time out and should take good strides given the time left in his development.

12/06/2015 - Interactive Video Program - Crowley, TX Adam continues to work hard on his skills. On the mound, this righty gets to a controlled balance point and has smooth separation, keeping his shoulders in-line toward the dish. FB still sits mid 50's while showing some cut. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with early action. He throws his CH with FB arm speed helping to create deception. Driving his lower 1/2 off of the rubber and striding square will help to improve abilities on the mound. Defensively, he hustles into a square fielding and keeps the GB in front. He moves well to his glove side, makes the plays with soft hands and has a clean exchange to throw. Working more from the ground up will help to avoid getting the in-between hop which will improve his defensive skills. With the bat, Adam has a balanced setup with rhythm in his hands. He barrels the ball up and drives it to all parts of the field. Engaging more of his lower 1/2 will result in increased power. Only a 2021 grad - Adam still has a ton of time to develop.

07/10/2015 - California Select Training & Competition - Session 1 Adam is a young RHP/3B that will graduate in 2021. Currently, he projects best at 3B for the next level. At 3B, feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up, displaying clean hands as he makes the routine plays. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process. For defensive grade to continue to improve, he needs to attack balls more while presenting hands more out front and increase foot quickness. At the plate he shows a squared setup with rhythm. Hands are loose and he makes consistent contact and stay inside the ball to utilize all fields. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to get stride foot down to work on time. Power numbers will increase as he learns to utilize his lower half more efficiently. At the event, he was 3 for 10. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 53-55 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Stock to the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength, works to throw more strikes, and develops off speed stuff. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable. With 6 years to further develop, Adam has abilities with time and room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
