06/15/2018 - USA Baseball 17U Championships This athletic MIF shows a tremendous future on the diamond with the makings of a special type player at the next level. He continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. He did show on the mound for the first time, but projects best in the MIF. At the plate, hitting/power potential is now outstanding as he squares the ball up consistently driving it on a line. Hands are quick (90 mph exit velocity) and they work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. Once on base he utilizes his quick feet and instincts to take an extra base and is very aggressive reading balls in the dirt. Defensively, he takes a quick first step and has plus lateral range. He creates angles around the GB with fluid actions but does need to attack balls more and play through with his body. DP turns are quick with zip (87 mph velocity) on his throws. Defensive abilities are near pro level as he shows big play potential. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 80-83 mph. Breaking ball shows 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for the pitch. Control is a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Adam is a mentally strong player with plus makeup, and has great upside that will enable him to play at a high level in the MIF.

04/22/2018 - College PREP - Grand Rapids, MI Adam is an athletic and talented 2019 SS. At SS, Adam has pre-pitch rhythm and has a quick first step to the ball. He presents a low/early glove and works from the ground up. He creates angles to the ball and has a clean exchange when throwing the ball. He also makes good feeds on double plays and throws from multiple arm slots. At the plate, Adam starts in a tall and open stance. He loads his hands back into the drive position and attacks the inside part of the ball. He stays balanced through contact and drives the ball gap to gap. Adam will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
