Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHP/OFPosition Projection

07/31/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Addison is an athletic and talented 2021 2-way prospect. In the OF, Addison is on time with his prep step, he has a good first step to the ball, and fields the ball in an athletic position. He works behind the ball and has a strong arm from the Outfield. At the plate, Addison starts in a wide and open stance. He has a simple load, gets his front foot down on time, and has a good path to the ball. He needs to continue to have a middle approach and create backside drive with his lower half. On the bump, Addison gathers over the rubber, he finds a good balance point, and has a clean arm action. He attacks hitters with his fastball and has a live arm. He uses his breaking ball as an out pitch but he could get more extension over the front side to create more tilt on the ball. He rides the back leg toward the plate and works down hill in his delivery. Addison is a competitor on the mound and we hope to see his progress in the future.

01/27/2019 - College PREP - Houston, TX Addison is a lean, athletic OF/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, he displays smooth / clean actions. He utilizes his feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles. He needs to work to get behind balls and play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive approach. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 76-79 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his split finger pitch with tumbling action. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 2 years to further develop, Addison has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
