Official Scouting Report

  • 2BPosition Projection

07/09/2018 - California Select Training & Competition - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Addison continues to show steady progress in his baseball abilities. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He works inside the ball through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At 2B, he displays smooth/fluid actions. Feet are active as he works around ground balls and squares up well. Hands/feet work well together as he presents glove well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

01/07/2018 - College PREP - San Antonio, TX Addison is an athletic 1st baseman who will graduate in 2019. Defensively, Addison has active feet, he moves quickly to the glove side, and he takes proper angles to the ball. He fields the slow roller cleanly, and throws with a short arm action with momentum toward his target. If Addison can field further out in front of his body, play lower, and improve his accuracy, defensive numbers will get better. At the plate, Addison has a square set-up, a proper load, and good balance. He makes consistent contact, swings on-plane, and tracks the ball all the way in. Hitting can improve with more lower 1/2, staying connected, and with better timing.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
