Official Scouting Report

  • 2B/RHPPosition Projection

01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Adie continues to shine on the diamond, showing at 2B and on the mound for the first time at Preseason All American event. In the IF, he is a polished defender with hands / feet working well together through the fielding process. Actions are smooth / clean as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying outstanding power in his swing. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 71-75 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Changeup shows good arm side run but slows arm speed, tipping pitch to hitters. Adie has potential with time and room to continue to progress his game.

07/28/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Adie is a strong, athletic, 3B who will graduate in 2018. Defensively, Adie has fluid footwork, agile movements, and he fields in a low/athletic position. He presents his glove early, shows good pre-pitch actions, and delivers the ball accurately from a short arm action across the diamond. A quicker 1st step and continued reps will help solid defensive numbers continue to get better. At the plate, Adie has an athletic/open set-up, a proper load, and an overall balanced approach. He has fast bat speed, a direct barrel to the ball, and makes hard/consistent contact. Hitting can improve with better timing and letting the ball travel deeper into the hitting zone.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
