Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 1B/RHPPosition Projection

07/27/2012 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition - Session 5 Aditya continues to show solid abilities in his game. Currently, he projects best at 1B for the next level. Feet are active as he makes the routine plays and displays proper footwork around the bag. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front, work through a low approach and improve foot speed to continue to improve defensive grade. Throws are accurate through a loose arm action but needs to build more arm strength. At the plate, he shows a solid setup with rhythm and tracks the ball well. Hands work to stay inside the ball as he utilizes all fields. Barrel accuracy is a plus with power numbers improving as he learns to use his lower half more. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 68-70 mph with arm side run / sink. Off speed pitches flash potential but needs further development to be quality pitches at the next level.

06/10/2012 - College PREP - Medford (Boston), MA Aditya is a young, big, RHP / 1st baseman with a solid frame. On the mound, Aditya has a long / loose arm action, a controlled balance, and level shoulders. He is around the zone with his pitches and he can improve with better direction, a sharper CB, and with added arm strength. At 1st base, Aditya has soft hands, efficient footwork, and he moves well laterally. He has a good backhand, a clean exchange, and he throws with a loose arm with consistency to his target. Abilities at 1st base can improve if Aditya can field further out in front, and play more through the ball. At the plate, Aditya has a tall set-up, fast bat speed, and he makes hard contact. He has a line drive approach and he uses his lower 1/2 well. Staying short to the ball and improve his barrel accuracy can help spike offensive numbers.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
