07/22/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Adrion is a hard working C/3B prospect who hustled all over the field during his time at the National World Series at Pirate City. Behind the plate, Adrion shows efficient footwork and covers up well when blocking balls in the dirt. He presents a good target to the pitcher and makes a clean exchange to throw. He gains momentum well on his throws to 2B and keeps them on-line to the bag. Adrion can improve defensively by setting up in a lower stance. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid getting back into his load and leads well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed which leads to consistent contact. Adrion can improve as a hitter by consistently keeping his head down on the ball. With four more years to develop, Adrion has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

12/27/2017 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Adrion continues to show a promising future on the diamond. Behind the plate, pop times showed in the 2.66 range with accuracy on his throws. Feet are active working in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the baseball quicker. Glove action is soft as he sticks balls well in the zone but needs to present a lower target. He uses his body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get down sooner and improve his lateral movements. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball and shows plus barrel accuracy through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At the event, he was 2 for 3 with a 2B and 7 BB as he displays a patient approach and strong recognition of the strike zone. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 60 mph. Fastball showed a range of 57-60 mph. He slows arm speed on his changeup, tipping off pitch to hitters. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
