04/30/2023 - National Showcase - Fairfield (Sacramento), CA Ahren is an athletic SS/RHP in the 2025 class. In the field, he has quick feet and agile movements. Gains an athletic fielding position and his pocket presentation is solid. Displays quick exchanges and uses ¾ release at 81 velo. Throws across the diamond are accurate and he can change arm slots based upon his defensive zone. On the mound, he operates with a 3-pitch mix from a ¾ arm slot. Has repeatable mechanics and stays directional down the slope. His FB sat 70-2 with tailing actions. His CB had 11-5 shape and ranged 59-60. His CH was in the zone with deception at 62-6. At the plate, he begins in a squared stance. He uses a short stride and gets into his legs well. Shows line drive production to all fields and has pull side pop. Overall, Ahren is a solid two-way player to keep an eye on.

12/04/2022 - All-In Membership - Sacramento, CA Ahren is a SS prospect who will graduate in 2025. In the field, Ahren shows quick footwork and is agile covering ground. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gets rid of the ball quickly, making accurate/on-line throws to his target. Long tossing can help Ahren build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and gets into his load well. He works through a level swing and produces strong line drives. Ahren can barrel up more baseballs by working a smoother rhythm into his load. Overall, Ahren is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
