09/16/2015 - Under Armour Fall Classic, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Aidan is a hard working, coachable player who gives his all every time he steps onto the field. He has made great strides and has improved in several areas of his game. Foot speed has improved as he now runs a 7.25 60 yard dash. Offensively, this righty has a balanced/athletic setup with patience, waiting for his pitch. He has good zone awareness and doesn't swing at much that he cannot handle. Swing path is level as he barrels the ball up and creates hard contact (exit velocity = 88 mph). Swinging on a shorter/more direct path will result in even more pop off of his barrel. At 3B, Frye has athletic actions and moves well into a square fielding position. He is sure handed, gathers well and fires strong throws with carry across the diamond. He is versatile and can play multiple positions on the diamond. On the mound, this RHP works to a tall balance point and drives his lower 1/2 off the rubber driving downhill toward the plate. FB now tops out at 84 mph as he pounds the zone with strikes and challenges hitters to swing the bat. Changeup is thrown with FB arm speed as it compliments his FB well. Pick-off move is quick as he keeps runners honest and doesn't let them get comfortable. Finishing with more extension on his follow through (towel drill) will help to improve effectiveness on all pitches. Only a 2018 grad - Aidan is a talented player who will make an impact in a variety of ways on the diamond.

12/27/2012 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Vero Beach Aidan continues to show consistency in his overall abilities. In the field his hands are sure with active footwork and plus body control. He does a good job keeping the ball in front and plays through the ball showing good life to his throws. He can focus on making sure his fielding position is low with his hands out in front. On the mound, Aidan repeats his delivery well with loose actions and a controlled balance point. His separation is on time but has the tendency to wrap his backward arm action. Continue to focus on keeping front side closed working inline with target finishing towards home plate. Aidan shows the ability to be a strong pitcher with good command of his pitches. At the plate, Aidan shows a solid approach with a quiet swing and consistent barrel. His rhythm is smooth and he shows the ability to drive the ball to all fields. Hitting grades will improve with a better load keeping his hands up and by finishing his lower half. Overall, Aidan is a great kid, very coachable and has a lot of potential on the mound.

07/16/2012 - Interactive Video Program - Trenton, NJ Aidan is a tall 2-way player with a thin frame. On the mound, Aidan has a loose arm action, good glove tuck, and he repeats his delivery well. He keeps his eyes on target, his shoulders are level and he is around the plate with his pitches. At 3B, Aidan has soft / sure hands, fluid feet, and a solid backhand. He gets rid of the ball quickly and throws with accuracy across the diamond. Offensively, Aidan has a square set-up, good balance, and a compact swing. He has a level swing plane and can spray to all fields. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Pitching
1. Long toss
2. Finish pitch
3. Don't fall off
Defense
1. Field further out in front
Offense
1. More extension
2. Lower 1/2

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
