01/13/2017 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Aidan continues to show a promising future on the diamond. Behind the plate, feet are active as he gains ground and works through a clean / transfer exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times showed in the 2.13 range. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Hands are soft as he lets the ball travel and tracks well, sticking in the zone. He shows off his athletic abilities through the blocking process and is a wall behind the dish. At the plate, he shows an open, athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows barrel accuracy through a line drive approach.

12/27/2016 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Aidan is a strong right handed hitting 3rd baseman/catcher who will graduate in 2017. Aidan is a player of high character, who in his time in Pirate City, showed that he was hustle oriented, willing to learn/coachable, and loved to play the game, evident by his constant hustle on the field. Offensively, he displayed impressive pop to all fields, through a square and balanced setup. Bat speed was a plus (90 mph exit velocity), as he loaded his hands on time, threw them directly to the baseball and then extended through contact. Defensively, he did a fine job of tracking the ball all the way into his mitt, and showed a soft glove when blocking and receiving the baseball. Arm was a plus, as his exchange was quick and his throws were accurate down to 2nd base (2.10 pop time). Overall, Aidan is an impressive young prospect with a high ceiling in this game, who will certainly be on the radar of collegiate coaches in the future.

11/06/2016 - College PREP - Tampa, FL Aidan is a strong, right handed hitting catcher who will graduate in 2017. Behind the dish, he showed good directional skills with his feet to block balls in the dirt. Hands were soft/sure when blocking and receiving. His arm works well for the position as his throws were strong and accurate down to 2nd base. Offensively, he showed gap to gap power, a result of his quick hands and aggressive swing. Lower 1/2 was involved and worked well, which kept his balance centered throughout his swing. All in all, Aidan has a good frame for a catcher and with continued hard work he will catch the eyes of collegiate coaches as he continues to progress on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
