Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • C/RHPPosition Projection

07/30/2015 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training & Tournament at Historic Dodgertown Aiden continues to show as a C/RHP but currently projects best behind the plate where he has really improved his baseball abilities with a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he has improved the most, now displaying outstanding hitting abilities through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, generating bat speed and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing with baseball jumping off the bat when centered as he works to stay inside the ball, displaying gap to gap pop. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.10 with life / carry on his throws. Hands / feet work well together through the catch / throw process and his displays outstanding arm strength. Receiving / blocking skills show as quality tools that will play well at the next level. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 75-76 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for but needs to develop more movement on pitch. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, loves to compete, and displays plus instincts behind the plate. He has a lot of potential with the makings of a special type player at the next level.

05/03/2015 - College PREP - Adrian (Detroit), MI Aiden is an athletic (7.07 sixty) left handed hitting C/RHP with consistent actions on all sides of the ball. Defensively, he worked in front with the glove and was controlled with his body to receive, block, and throw (2.19 pops). He showed some feel behind the plate and with minor tune-ups to stay compact with his arm action and explosive with his lower will improve defensive skill. Offensively, he had a good move with his hands to get them activated and ready to hit, and was direct with the barrel to contact. He tracked well with a quiet head and used the middle of the field with his approach. Implementing hand and hip coordination - driving with the legs - will boost overall hit ability and power. On the hill, he threw his FB from 74-76, spun an 11/5 CB from 64-66, and showed a sinking CH from 63-65. Mechanically, he gathered athletically over the rubber to initiate his delivery and repeated with good direction and consistent release points. All in all - Aiden has great upside with fundamental ability to strengthen over the next two years.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
