06/30/2019 - College PREP - Binghamton, NY Aiven is a lean 2nd baseman who will graduate in 2020. Defensively, Aiven has active feet, good range, and he makes the routine plays. He has firm hands, a clean exchange, and an accurate arm with consistency to his target. Fielding more aggressively and playing more through can help improve defensive skills. At the plate, Aiven has a square set-up, he loads his hands properly, and swings on plane. He gets the bat through the zone and makes square contact. Hitting can improve with better timing, more lower 1/2, and keeping a still head.

11/08/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City (Ages 14-18) Aiven is a coachable 2B prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Select Training & Competition at Pirate City. In the field, Aiven makes the routine plays and keeps his throws accurate and on-line to his target. Getting into a more athletic fielding position can help Aiven improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He gets back into his load well and takes a direct swing to the ball, leading to contact to all fields. Aiven can improve as a hitter by driving his lower half more. Overall, Aiven is a developing prospect who has the potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
