07/22/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) AJ is a switch hitting, 2-way player who catches and pitches. Behind the plate, AJ has efficient footwork, firm hands, and he covers ground well. He looks the ball into his glove, gains some ground when throwing, and delivers the ball with pop times as lows as 2.38 to 2nd base. A wider base, quicker exchange, and work on blocking can help catching improve. On the mound, AJ has a clean arm action, he works in good rhythm, and has good direction toward home plate. He separates on time, has a controlled landing toward home, and he keeps his eyes on target. More lower body and extension can help mound effectiveness get better. At the plate, AJ has an athletic set-up, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He has fast bat speed, makes hard/consistent contact, and can work the ball gap to gap. AJ is equally as good from both sides of the plate!
