08/05/2013 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 AJ showed on the mound and for the first time in the OF where he projects the best for the next level. He utilizes his feet well in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down ball. He plays hard but needs to work on getting behind balls more to play through with momentum to his target and improve foot quickness to continue to improve defensive grade. At the plate, he shows a balanced setup with rhythm and strength in his swing. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. Barrel accuracy is a plus with baseball exploding off the bat when centered and has improved power numbers. At the event, he was 2 for 7 with a 2B and made several hard contact outs. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 76-78 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with slight break. Command / control are a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a hard worker and is very coachable.
