02/18/2024 - National Showcase - Honolulu, HI AJ is a 2028 C/SS prospect. Showed quick feet and good agility behind the dish. Has an athletic and low secondary stance. He presents a good target and works thumb under the baseball. He replaces his feet, with a quick transfer, and made on-line throws to second base. He shows a quick release with an arm velocity up to 81mph and a best pop time of 2.03 seconds. Has a good spine angles on his blocks with ability to keep balls in front. At SS he shows fluid footwork with athletic actions. He fields with his hands out front and has a clean exchange. He creates momentum to his target and made accurate throws across the diamond. A right-handed hitter he starts with an upright and square stance. He gets good extension through the baseball and is centered at contact. A short barrel path enables him to hit hard line drives to all fields. With continued growth and development, we foresee this 2-way prospect having opportunities to play at the next level.

12/27/2022 - Baseball Factory West Coast Winter Classic AJ is a talented c/RHP in the 2028 class. Scouts loved his energy and athletic ability. He is ateam leader and is constantly communicating with his fellow defenders. Behind the plate, he has feel for the position and presents a quiet target. Has hip mobility and sits under the baseball. His feet are active and his exchanges are clean. He can redirect the baseball quickly (2.37 pop) and is accurate to his targets. Blocks well and is quick to recover. On the mound, he is composed and has a feel for pitching. His FB sat 64-7 with a slight cut. His CB sat 54-6 with 10-4 shape. Both pitches were in the zone. He showed well at the plate with 5 base hits and used the middle of the field well. Has bat speed (70 exit velo) and produces line drives with his swing path. Overall, AJ is a must follow in the 2028 class.

08/15/2021 - Official Player Development Membership - Honolulu, HI AJ is a 2B who will graduate in 2028. A young and developing player who has some strength present but has plenty of time to add more strength. In the infield, he showed ability to cover ground in all directions. He picks out hops and has a good glove angle on ground balls. Accurate/on-line throws across diamond from multiple arm slots and an arm velocity up to 60mph. At the plate, he starts from a crouched and open stance. Quiet head and level eyes enables him to track pitches well. Showed good plate discipline only swinging at pitches in the strike zone. Sprayed balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 55mph during BP. With 6 years of continued growth and development, we can see AJ having a good high school career and possibly beyond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
