07/14/2018 - Baseball Factory D.C. All Star Experience (Ages 12-14) Ajellen is a coachable C/OF prospect who continued to work hard on his skills during his time at the D.C. All Star Experience. Behind the plate, Ajellen shows fluid footwork and moves well when blocking balls in the dirt. He sits in an athletic stance and presents a good target to the pitcher. He throws with a quick arm action and keeps his throws consistently on-line to 2B. Ajellen can improve defensively by quickening his exchange to throw. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He produces fast bat speed through the zone which leads to some gap to gap pop. Ajellen can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. With four more years to develop, Ajellen has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

07/06/2018 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (Ages 12-14) Ajellen lowered pop times and showed nice offensive skills during his time at the Cape. Pop times dropped to 2.57. He has athletic actions, active feet, and he sits in low. He presents his glove well, has a clean exchange, and throws with momentum from a short arm action to 2nd base. At the plate, Ajellen has pop in his bat from the left side, an athletic stroke, and he swings in good rhythm. He makes solid contact and swings on plane through the ball. He is a coachable and gifted player with a bright future.

06/26/2018 - Interactive Video Program - New Britain (Hartford), CT Ajellen is a strong catcher with a solid frame. Defensively, Ajellen has playable hands and feet, he covers ground well, and recovers quickly when blocking. He presents his glove well, tracks to the glove, and throws with accuracy from a quick arm to 2nd base. Pop times were as low as 2.62. At the plate, Ajellen can hit from both sides. From the left, Ajellen has a tall setup, strong hands, and good bat speed. From the right side, Ajellen has a strong base, he loads his hands well, and he puts the bat on the ball consistently. Ajellen can improve skills with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
