02/16/2020 - Accelerated College PREP - Highland Park (DFW), TX Alan is a strong 3B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2023. In the field, Alan shows active footwork and covers ground well. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a quick exchange and gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate and on-line to his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an open stance and takes a square stride. He is fluid getting back into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing with explosive bat speed and good extension through the ball, leading to loud contact and great raw power. On the mound, Alan gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through his release, staying inline towards the plate. Alan shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 74mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 59-61mph with 10-4 break. Knuckle ball sits from 57-60mph with tumbling action. Overall, Alan is a talented prospect who should find success going into his freshman season.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
