12/20/2023 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 Alan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities at the Pirate City Christmas tournament. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date at 7.32. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with carry (83 mph velocity to his target). At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work to and through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing as he transfers weight into a firm front side. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

10/16/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Washington, DC Alan worked out in the OF and at 3rd base during his last workout in DC. In the INF, Alan has active feet, a presentable glove, and shows solid range. He has a good backhand, a clean exchange, and throws with a high 3/4 arm slot across the diamond. Loosening top hand grip will aid in improving extension and bat speed.

08/21/2021 - Summer Pro Training Experience - MD (HS) Alan is a very projectable 2025 2B/OF prospect who has a lot of potential in his frame and ability. In the field, Alan works light on his feet to cover ground in the outfield and tries to work through the ball on the infield. His exchange is smooth and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and could benefit from more lower half invovlement. He works through a smooth 2 handed finish in his swing which leads to consistent contact.Overall, Alan is a talented prospect who has the potential and time to grow into a solid prospect.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
