07/29/2015 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 17U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Albert is a very coachable player who has a willingness to learn. His positive / can do attitude rubs off on those around him. At the plate, this righty has a square setup and waits to jump on pitches he likes. He takes a hack, connects with pop as the ball jumps off of his barrel when he centers it. Shortening his stride and engaging more of his strong lower 1/2 will result in even more power potential. Defensively at 1B, he hustles into a square fielding position and tracks GB's into his mitt. He gathers well and can pick it. Getting on a footwork/agility program to help quicken his footwork will help to take his game at 1B to the next level. Albert has the work ethic to get to where he wants to be.

04/19/2015 - College PREP - Lodi (Sacramento), CA Albert is a R/R 1B who has a strong/projectable build (6'1"/265). With the bat, this righty has some power to his pull side. Rhythm in his hand allow him to work back into a loaded position, waiting for his pitch. He jumps on pitches he likes and creates hard contact. Working to shorten his stride will let him get more out of his lower 1/2 which will create even more power. At 1B, Albert shows good prep footwork and moves into a square fielding position. He makes the backhand play smoothly and gathers well. He moves well around the bag and can pick throws out of the dirt. This 2016 grad has a solid skill-set which will translate well at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
