11/05/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures Texas Alec, once again, showed well at the UA Futures event. HIs thick, strong 6'3" frame generates some leverage power in his right-handed swing. He is most comfortable with balls on the inner half that he can turn on, and he has loft to his stroke allowing him to get the ball in the air. At 3B he moves pretty well, getting himself into position to make plays, and he has dependable hands. His exchange is clean while his release is a bit stiff, but he has the arm strength to get carry across the diamond. Alec has the look of a run producer who hits in the middle of the order and can man either infield corner spot.

06/29/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South Alec is a corner infielder who can swing it. At the plate - he has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. He takes an absolute hack - crushing the ball to the deep parts of the park (exit velocity = 84 mph). At 3B, Alec has plus lateral range for a big guy, working from the ground-up with smooth actions. Transfer is quick as he fires strong throws zipping across the diamond. A projectable 3B - Alec will play at a very high level and make an immediate impact.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
