01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Alec Espos is a 5'8/155 lbs senior OF that showed his best strengths in the OF at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament with Baseball Factory. Defensively, he prepped his feet pre-pitch, engaging his lower half to get quick jumps on the ball off the bat. He took good angles and was controlled with his body, working behind and through the play to throw on-line to his targets. He had a clean exchange and a quick release to get the ball into the cutoff. Offensively, he was short to contact with good balance in his swing. He had a quiet head, allowing him to track the ball to contact and he rotated his core nicely to generate torque. In all - Alec has an athletic build that he can continue to add baseball skill and consistency too over the course of his senior spring.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
