07/07/2014 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition Alec is a good kid with solid mechanics for the game. On the mound he showed a good balance point, stays in-line to target and finishes well. Alec needs to loosen up his actions, drive the lower half and long toss to strengthen his arm. As a fielder he squares up to the ball but needs to break down sooner, get around the ball more and play through to help his throws. At the plate Alec activates his hands; he is direct to the ball and makes good/consistent contact. He can improve by keeping his balance centered, getting the stride foot down sooner and tracking the ball all the way to contact.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
