01/18/2019 - 2019 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Alejandro is a strong 1B/RHP prospect who showcased his skills at the All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament. In the field, Alejandro gets into position on time and fields the ball out in front of his body with soft hands. He throws with a loose arm and keeps his throws accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance with loose hands. He is controlled getting his hands activated and takes a compact swing. He produces fast bat speed through the zone, leading to loud contact and solid pop. On the mound, Alejandro starts with a simple rock step and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline towards the plate, finishing square to his target. Alejandro shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 72mph. Breaking ball sits from 63-65mph with 11-5 break. With three more years to develop, Alejandro has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

12/17/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Thousand Oaks, CA Alejandro is a young, strong, 2-way player who plays 1B and RHP. Defensively, Alejandro has active feet, decent range, and he fields in a low/athletic position. He has a good 1st step to the ball, moves well around the bag, and has a clean exchange with accuracy to his target. On the mound, Alejandro stands over the rubber well, he has a loose arm action, and good direction toward home. He gets good extension on his pitches and rotates through toward his target. At the plate, Alejandro has a square set-up, an aggressive swing, and a balanced approach. He has fast bat speed, makes hard/consistent contact, and he hits hard to the pull side. Alejandro has good abilities for his age and can improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
