06/25/2016 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 Alejandro continues to show improvements in his baseball tools. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, power potential has really improved, now showing as outstanding through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (91 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Barrel accuracy is a plus with baseball exploding off the bat when centered, displaying gap to gap pop. At the event he was 3 for 10 with 2 2B. At 1B, feet are active as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. He plays through balls aggressively but will benefit by presenting glove more out front. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

12/27/2015 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Alejandro is a LHH 1B who has a strong frame (5'11"/210). He is a coachable player who has a willingness to learn. Offensively, this lefty stands in well with centered balance and rhythm in his hands. Swing is direct to and through the zone as he utilizes his lower 1/2 and squares the ball up with some pop. At 1B, Alejandro has hustles into a square fielding position and secures the GB with soft hands. He moves well around the bag and can adjust to inaccurate throws. Continuing to develop his footwork/agility will help to increase lateral range in the INF. Alejandro is a well-rounded 1B who will find success on the diamond.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
