09/03/2021 - Baseball Factory's All-Region Tournament (HS) Alejandro continues to shine on the diamond. Behind the plate, feet are aggressive and active as he works in line to his target, through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times showed in the 2.47 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength. He shows a squared setup, tracks well, and sticks balls in the zone. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner. At the plate, he shows a balanced setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach, flashing gap to gap pop.

08/01/2021 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (HS) Alejandro is a 2024 C/1B prospect who worked hard on his skills during the National World Series at Pirate City. Alejandro has long levers and a projectible frame with plenty of time to fill out. He brings great energy and wants to get better. Behind the plate, he tries to work with good direction towards second base. 2-hand transfer working into a low 3/4 arm slot and an arm velocity up to 74mph and a best pop time of 2.23 seconds. At the plate, he hits from a tall and open stance with comfortable hands. Has a small hand load and incorporates his lower half in his swing. During BP, he hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 71mph. In live game action, he walked 4 times and showed a good eye/patience at the plate and would only swing at balls he could drive. With 3 years of growth and development, we foresee Alejandro having a future on the baseball diamond.

02/12/2021 - Baseball Factory Spring Training - West Coast (HS) Alejandro is a strong C/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Spring Training. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a square stride. He gets his hands activated in his load and generates fast bat speed through the zone, driving the ball from gap to gap. Behind the dish, Alejandro receives with a firm glove and works to make accurate throws to the 2B bag. On the mound, this righty gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline toward the plate, finishing with his chest square to his target. Alejandro shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 78mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 64-65mph with 11-5 break. With three more years to develop, Alejandro has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

01/08/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season Prospects Tournament (HS) Alejandro continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, hitting / power potential is now solid through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive approach. He makes consistent hard contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At the event, he was 2 for 5. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well but needs to stick balls in the zone. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner. Pop times showed in the 2.50 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

11/06/2020 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona Alejandro is a coachable C/1B prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Select Training & Competition in Arizona. Behind the plate, Alejandro tracks the ball into his glove and gets rid of his throws quickly, keeping them accurate through the 2B bag. Sitting in a more athletic stance can help Alejandro improve his overall catching ability. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride. He works to barrel up the baseball and drives the ball from gap to gap. Alejandro can produce more pop off the barrel by driving his lower half more. With four more years to develop, Alejandro has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

07/26/2020 - All-In Membership - Aberdeen (Seattle), WA Alejandro is a young (6'1"/195) 2-way player as a C/1B. With the bat, he stands in tall with patience waiting for a pitch he likes. He takes a hack, barrels the ball up and shows some pull-side pop. Works to stay balanced while engaging his full lower 1/2 throughout the swing will help to improve skills as a hitter. Behind the dish, he sits in and tracks pitches into his mitt. He works hard laterally to body up pitches in the dirt. He works to stay in-line toward 2B on throws down with pop times of 2.90. Times will continue to drop as he works to quicken his transfer/exchange and strengthen his arm. At 1B, he hustles to GB's hit to his right and left. He tracks the ball into his mitt and gathers well. Continuing to develop his footwork/agility will help improve lateral range in the INF. Only a 2024 grad - Alejandro still has a ton of time to develop his skills on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
