07/29/2017 - Under Armour All-America Game, Powered by Baseball Factory Alek is an ultra-athletic outfielder with an outstanding left-handed swing and the speed to stay in centerfield. He generates excellent bat speed in a compact stroke that results in surprising power and lots of hard contact. The 3-sport standout shows his athleticism, high baseball IQ and natural instincts both on the bases and defensively. The Chicago native should feel right at home at Wrigley Field this summer. Alek is committed to TCU.

05/07/2017 - College PREP - River Forest (Chicago), IL Alek continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and is a prospect on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an outstanding runner at 6.89. At the plate, is where he has improved the most, displaying near pro level hitting / power potential. Hands are quick (95 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path and late explosion. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with power showing to all fields. Lower half works well through the swing and shows a plus feel for the barrel with baseball coming off the bat differently. In the OF, he continues to shine as he displays smooth / clean actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Feet are aggressive as he works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with life, accuracy, and on line carry to his throws. Alek has all the tools with the makings of a solid 2018 draft pick.

01/16/2015 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Alek is an athletic OF with tremendous upside. In the OF he has a quick first step, gets behind the ball well, and takes the proper angles to the ball. He is aggressive with his approach and he has good body control. His exchange is quick and he makes accurate throws with good carry. At the plate he has a smooth load, strong balance, and a good rhythm. He has an advanced approach at the plate and looks to do damage with an aggressive swing. He makes consistent contact and can spray the ball to all fields with power.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
