06/12/2013 - Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Team One Florida Balter has a lean frame with some present strength at 6-foot and 180 pounds. He posted a low pop time of 2.03 between innings, and registered a time of 2.06 in a game - both better than his previous low with us of 2.09. The ball got out of his hand easy, and had carry through the bag. His exchange was simple and clean, and his arm action was compact. He tended to get a little upright, and has room to quicken his feet to improve his pop times even more. He sat well to receive, actions were quiet and target was low. Hands were soft to receive the ball. Moved well laterally to block, got down quick and surrounded balls to his left and right well - blocking in games was better than in the workout, proof of quick and precise reactions. At the plate, he showed hand-eye coordination and strong hands and arms. His head was quiet and his route to contact was good. Tended to slide his hips laterally, and generally was over active with his lower half too soon - didn't allow for full rotation of his core through contact, though he was able to make hard gap to gap contact even despite this. Has natural ability to work with, and still has untapped potential.
