01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Alex is a 2026 1B/LHP out of Miramar, FL who showcased his skills during the BF Rookie PSAA Tournament. At 1B, Alex showed smooth footwork with the ability to make routine plays. He worked to center the baseball and presents a big target at first base. He made accurate throws from a high 3/4 arm slot, with a clean arm stroke, and an arm velocity up to 79mph. At the plate, he hits from a tall and open stance with high hands. Activates his hands, with smooth rhythm to swing, and showed good barrel control. A compact bat path enables him to hit balls into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 79mph during BP. During the games, he showed good plate discipline and proved to be a tough out as he reached base 4 times with a HR, double, and 2 walks. A left-handed pitcher, he has long levers and a projectible frame. He has good feel for pitching and competes on the mound. He gathers over the rubber and works with good direction down the mound. He attacks hitters with a FB that topped out at 79mph with sink, and a 1/7 shaped breaking ball that flashes some depth. In 3 innings of work, he struck out 6 batters and threw 61% of his pitches for strikes. Alex is solid 2-way player who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

02/28/2021 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Davie, FL Alex continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date at a 7.97. At 1B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Feet are active and plays through well with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. At the plate, hitting/power potential has improved through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields, flashing gap to gap pop. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 66 mph. fastball shows a range of 64-66 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with early break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Alex has a very bright future ahead of himself and we look forward to seeing what it holds.

12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic (Ages 12-14) Alex is a coachable 1B/LHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Winter Classic. In the field, Alex attacks the ball aggressively and shows good lateral range. He gets into position on time and fields with a relaxed glove. He makes a two-handed exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, working to keep his throws accurate to his target. Long tossing to build up his arm strength can help Alex improve defensively. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a controlled stride. He gets his hands activated on time and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with decent bat speed, leading to consistent line drives. Alex can improve as a hitter by continuing to add strength. On the mound, Alex is controlled gathering to his balance point and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline towards the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. Alex shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 62mph. Breaking ball sits from 53-55mph with 1-7 break. With five more years to develop, Alex has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

11/10/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Davie, FL Alex is an athletic, 2-way player who hits from the left side. At 1st base, Alex has playable hands and feet, and he keeps the ball in front of his body. He makes plays, his exchange is clean, and he follows his throws to his target, delivering the ball with accuracy. On the mound, this LHP has good balance over the rubber and he separates his hands on time. He keeps his eyes on target, has control of his off-speed, and he lands with good direction toward the plate. Offensively, Alex has an open stance, a square stride toward the pitcher, and he swings in good rhythm. He works the middle of the field and can hit the ball the other way. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
