06/05/2019 - 2019 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Florida Alex is an athletic switch hitting MIF that shows as a top prospect on the diamond. At the plate, hands are quick (91 mph exit velocity) as he squares the ball up consistently driving it on a line. Defensively, he takes a quick first step and has plus lateral range (7.04 60 time). He creates angles around the GB with fluid actions. DP turns are quick with zip (89 mph velocity) on his throws. Defensive abilities are at a pro level as he shows big play potential. Alex has tremendous upside with the makings of a draft pick in 2020.

09/15/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures East Alex has a strong, athletic frame and a unique profile as a switch-hitting infielder. He's a great example of a player with quality tools, but the sum of the parts is even better come game time. Alex is a competitor who makes his team better and finds a way to make a positive contribution and help his team win. He looks to do damage with a selectively aggressive approach and pull power from both sides of the plate. His strong hands lead to bat speed and solid impact. Defensively, Alex works through balls and is sure-handed. He has instincts and a good internal clock that allow him to make all the plays and give him the versatility to play several IF positions. Overall, this is a gamer that you want in your uniform.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
